Kid #1 is a Girl!

That’s right, after a day of nerve-racking suspense Joy and I went to the Birthing Center to find out what our little baby was up to.  Shamefully, I was a little late due to a last minute fire-drill at the new work-site and a treacherous commute through the drudges of Bellevue on 405.  Argh.

Well, our ultrasound guru Ylia (pronounced Eel-e-ya) didn’t miss a beat and whipped out his laptop-esque gadgetry with joystick attachment that magically reveals the activity of our mini-Hutton once you apply the jelly goo to the tummy of La Prega (aka Joy).

It was at that most crucial moment, when Joystick meets belly that Ylia says, “What would you like to know first – the sex of the baby or the health?”  Are you kidding me?!  The baby’s sex of course.  Show me the baby you crazy Polish man!

So he revealed to us that our little bun in the oven is actually a little girl.  Then he showed us that she had a nice beating heart and working kidneys – I guess that’s good to know too.  I made him take about a dozen pictures on his gadget and made him swear to send us pics this time – we never got our first ones.  So stay tuned, we will be updating them asap – as in tomorrow when he sends them to us via email!  In the meantime you can look at Ben Jacobson’s 16-Week Baby Picture – note that our baby is 20 weeks (4 weeks bigger) but that pic will have to do for now.

Side Note: What’s also good to know is that Joy, herself, has two kidneys that are both there.  I don’t know what that has to do with pregnancy and babies, but Ylia seemed to think it was worthy of a little extra ultra-sounding.

The Newly Painted House

Well, we finally did it! Despite a rainy weekend and a last-minute decision to paint the house ourselves we managed to get the new place finished off.

* Special thanks to Kent, Mike, James, Rebecca, and Kirk!

Hutton House Pictures

The long awaited Hutton House Pictures are here. Sorry this took so long – we’ve been going through some television improvements … meaning Joy and I found the perfect TV and decided to bite the big one and finally purchase a new TV. Gone are the days of the ginormous (and heavy) hand-me-down. We have even been discussing whether or not we should cancel our Blockbuster account so we can watch more History Channel and CNN. So far, the Vizio 42 inch LCD has been great. We used it as a slide show during our smashing new years even party.

Our House ... with Trees

Our House ... with Trees

Here’s our first pic of the new house. When we moved in, we there were lots of trees blocking the front yard – some diseased and others damaging the foundation. I haven’t yet had a chance to take any more daytime pictures, so this will have to suffice until the sun comes out again.

Here’s another picture of me painting our bedroom.  We decided to go with a light shade of forest green on two walls paired with an even lighter shade of the same color. We found some great paint colors at this local Parker’s Paint shop near out house.  If you click on the link, check out the greenish color called “Lawn” – our walls are a lighter shade of that.

And finally, here is the Study.  We actually had to paint this room4 times!  Let me tell you folks, red is probably the most difficult color to paint – for some reasons it just doesn’t coat very easily.  Think twice before you decide on this striking color.  If you have that link open to the color wheel, this room is a lot like the “Excelsior” red color.

I know these pictures are a little lame, but I’ll do another round of photos once we finish all the remodeling and landscaping (probably around 2012)!  Let me just tell you that our2nd home is officially the nearest Home Depot.

Christmas 2007

Christmas is Coming! Yay. As I prepare for the shopping madness I’m creating an entry for my new blog contributor (drum roll please) …. Joy Hutton! My lovely wife.
And for all of you out there who heard that we moved – we did, in fact, get a nice little Christmas Tree! Special thanks goes out to Jerry and Tina for their small contribution to the season!

Pictures of the new place to follow.

Update: Okay, I’m having trouble updating Wordpess to include pictures because of my server permissions. Yes, this is the problem that forever plagues my life… server issues. I will be working on this over my Christmas break and have some lovely updates for you shortly.

Jeremy and Joy in Barcelona

Well, we made it Barcelona by the skin of our teeth.  It took three transfers after we missed our connecting flight in Coppenhagen (including a nice jog through the airport).

We spent the first evening making it to Sitges via an over-priced taxi cab.  The hotel/apartment was pretty nice – located right on the beach next to the boardwalk.  It was so nice it almost convinced us against going to Barcelona.   But we met Joel there and got hear all about host family and the life of a traveling student.

Tomorrow we meet Julee and the her boyfriend Jim in Malaga!

The Huttons Hit Spain

So Joy and I will be heading out shortly to Spain to visit Joel!  Woo hoo! I can not wait.  He’s sent out a few emails regarding some possible liver problems ;) – but he’ll just have to fend for himself until we get there.  The funny thing is he’s staying in Cadiz – our first Semester at Sea stop back in ’02.  Who would’ve thought we’d get a chance to head back over there for a second round!   I can’t wait to check out the city, in some ways it feels like yesterday.

We’ll be travelling around, checking out Sevilla, Granada, Barcelona, and Madrid to name a few.  I’ll keep you all posted on the details.

Back in Business

Okay, so I finally detached from my Live Spaces blog after realizing that there was no room for it in the google search results. That definitely won’t do. But the lingering problem now is that my many, many, many witty and exciting posts are no longer helping me rank well. *sigh*

Well, in case you’d like to read my old blog posts on that “other” site, feel free to take a look at them here: http://jeremyhutton.spaces.live.com/

Enjoy my new site and expect great things!

I also finally updated my personal website strategy blog with my family blog.  If you’d like to see my website strategy blog click here!
